Installation of IndySoft Print Server

To install IndySoft Print Server, run IndyPrintServer32.exe or IndyPrintServer64.exe and follow the wizard steps (Note: your executable file might have other text in it that your company has used to pre-define your connection settings for you. This is normal). Note that the IndySoft Print Server only needs to be installed on one workstation that will continually be running and has access to all the local printers at a particular location.

Choose the appropriate installation directory - a default of 'IndyPrintServer' is given. Press Next to proceed.

If you would like a Desktop Shortcut for IndySoft Print Server, check the "Create a desktop shortcut" box. Press Next to proceed.

Press the Install button to begin the installation. If this is the first time the Print Server (or WebTier Tools) has been installed on the workstation, you will be prompted to setup database connectivity:

The DatabaseSettings dialog will follow - confirm the correct database connection. Note that these connection settings are saved separately from the Database Settings used by the main IndySoft client - but it does share the .ini file with IndySoft WebTier Tools. Typically, you would not run both tools on the same workstation. Installation is now complete. |
