Company Preferences

To begin working with Company Preferences, select Options...Preferences (under Config & Admin)...By Company from the Home tab. Four information tabs can be used to customize how information associated with the Company is presented. Remember that these settings are for each Company.

Setup Custom Company Options - Default & Status Panel tab

The Default & Status Panel tab allows you to do several things. You can set your preferences for this Company as the default for all new companies. This makes it much easier to configure other companies if you have a set of options you intend to use most of the time. Default Tracking Status allows you to use a different method to track where an item is at creation. For example, suppose you are using 'Company' to refer to the physical facilities in your Company. In that case, you might set the Default Tracking Status to be 'Checked-In' system-wide to reflect the normal status of items at the production facilities representing 90% of your facilities. At a shipping warehouse, however, you might want the Default Tracking Status to be 'At Shipping Dock.' Then, if you create an item in the system at the warehouse, its status will be set to 'At Shipping Dock' when finished instead of the usual 'Checked-In.'

Custom Captions 1
The Custom Captions - 1 tab allows you to select custom field name captions for many on-screen fields. By filling in the labels, you can customize how various aspects of your equipment are identified. IndySoft will display the terminology you use, rather than what is shipped as the default.

I.D.

This field is the unique identifier for equipment per Company. It's usually located in the upper left of the Equipment Field section of the Equipment View tab.

Serial Number

This field is the Equipment Field section of the Equipment View tab.

Crib Number

Custom caption for the 'Crib Number' field on the top of the Additional Info. section.

Bin Number

Custom caption for the 'Bin Number' field on the top of the Additional Info. section.

Master

Custom caption for the 'Master' field on the Additional Info. section.

User Defined 1-6

Custom caption for the six user-defined fields on the bottom of the Additional Info. section, and the 6th user-defined field available from the Associations section.

Custom Status 1-10

Custom captions for the ten custom gage status indicators in the Equipment Status section of the Equipment View tab.

Automatic Description Formula

This field does NOT represent a custom caption. Instead, this field allows the entry of a custom formula for automatically generating the 'Description' field per gage by combining the data in other gage fields. For assistance in developing this formula, press the ellipsis button at the right of the edit box to popup a Formula Editor, as shown below:

FormulaBuilder - Automatic Description Formula

To create an automatic description formula using the above FormulaBuilder, expand the outline tree on the left to see the available fields, then drag/drop fields to the right in the order in which they should be appended in the final description. When dropped to the right, each field is represented by a # and a one-digit code. The description will be automatically input when the focus first moves to the Description field when a gage is added to the system.

These custom fields are shown inside the IndySoft Studies Module (launched from the Utilities menu on the Home tab).

There are 5 User Defined labels available to customize.

Parts/Operations Module Labels

This section includes the Custom 1 - 8 labels, plus Custom Date 1 & 2.

Custom Tab
The Custom Tab allows you to create meaningful labels for a custom tab to describe your equipment further. It is used for information not covered in any description tabs already provided in IndySoft. These labels are usually added to the Equipment View screen during the layout design.
