Database Settings - Database Connectivity

Database Settings can make either 2-Tier or 3-Tier connectivity to an MSSQL, Oracle, or Firebird database. You will see various options depending on the selected Connection Type and Database Type. See notes on the different combinations below:

·Database Connectivity - 3-Tier Clients

·Database Connectivity - Multi-User Oracle 2-Tier

·Database Connectivity - Multi-User MSSQL 2-Tier

·Database Connectivity - Multi-User Firebird 2-Tier

This important tab in Workstation Setup can be used to make a connection to the Firebird database used for the Single-User version of IndySoft:

·Database Connectivity - Single User Firebird

Note: once you have successfully established connectivity to your database or application server, you can take a snapshot of these settings for quick recall. Use the 'Save Connectivity Configurations' drop-down and save/delete buttons in the upper right of this section:

Saved Connectivity Configurations

Use the drop-down to recall previously saved configurations - all settings will be reloaded (Database Connectivity only). Use the 'Save Configuration' button to take a new snapshot - settings will be saved to an ini file saved to the \ConnectivityConfigurations subdirectory. Use the 'Delete Configuration' button to remove a previously saved configuration - the related ini file will be deleted.
