System-Wide Preferences...Due Date Settings

Days To Skip

Certain days of the week can be skipped when new schedule due dates are calculated. For example...assets should never be scheduled due on weekends. If the due date falls on one of these skipped days, the due date is moved to one day earlier (or to the first earlier date that is not skipped).

Annual Days To Skip

Same concept as 'Days To Skip' but only certain days of the year are set to skip, i.e., holidays, Christmas, your boss's birthday.

Specific Dates To Skip

Same concept as 'Days To Skip' but only certain dates are set to skip (an exact month/day/year), i.e., 'we won't be open Oct. 13th-Oct. 20th, 2014'

Increase/Decrease Calculated Due Date

Use this setting if you prefer for due dates to always come due on a particular day of the week, or always on the first of the month, etc. So after the due date is calculated, this adjustment is made (always to an earlier date). Choose the adjustment type and an optional +/- day adjustment. For example, if you want all due dates to fall on the 2nd of the month, select 'Beginning of the Month' + 1 Day. If the regular due date is 'July 16th,' then this adjustment would automatically move it to 'July 2nd'.

Flag as Due For Scheduled on the

Use this setting if you prefer the due date to fall on the next day after the complete interval and frequency specified. For instance, if you calibrate an asset with a '1 Year' schedule on January 1st, 2012, the next due date would normally be set to January 1st, 2013. But if you use this 'Day After' setting, the next due date will be automatically adjusted to January 2nd, 2013.

External Date Calculation

Suppose none of the above options (which can also be used in more advanced schemes through Workflow Configuration - Schedule Updates) can accomplish your date calculation strategy. In that case, and custom rules created through IndySoft Services cannot handle your scheme, an external date calculation tool can be called using this option. Like custom rules, the external utility would be a customized service quoted through IndySoft Sales.

Scheduling Defaults

New schedules will use these default values. |
