User/Location Settings - External Devices

The Ext. Devices (External Devices) tab is used for optional 3rd party data collectors that can be tied to IndySoft. This dialog references three types of external devices supported by IndySoft. One is a Data Logger for temperature/relative humidity. It can automatically log temperature and relative humidity during an event. The other device is an RF Tag made by Balluff. It allows you to read/write gage data to small tags embedded in equipment. The 3rd device is a standard barcode reader. For further information on these interfaces, contact IndySoft for more details.

User/Location Settings - External Devices

Note: if you see any setting in the User/Location Settings dialog that has this toggle visible to the right:

Full Client Global Settings 2023-04-27 at 4.39.39 PM

Then this setting is set up as a global preference, and CANNOT be modified by individual users in the User/Location Settings. Please have your Administrator edit this setting in Setup Global Preferences within Profile Manager as needed.Data Logger Name

This option should be used to specify the name of the data logger you wish to pull RH/Temp data from.

Barcode Termination Character

You use this character to specify a termination point when scanning barcode data.

Use WIA drivers when scanning documents

By default, all documents are scanned using TWAIN. Checking this option will instead opt for the Windows WIA drivers. Note: Currently, only WIA 1.0 support is offered. If you use a WIA 2.0 driver, check the option for "Use WIA 1.0 Emulation" if available. WIA 2.0 will only import the 1st page of a multi-page document. |
