Add/Edit...Equipment Info...Sub-Types

Sub-Types allow you to define your equipment for easier cross-referencing further. For instance, a Micrometer (type) can be analog or digital (sub-types).

Sub-Types of the equipment you are adding to your database can be added in two ways. The first way is while you are populating the information while adding new equipment to a company in Equipment View. The second way is from a master list in Equipment Info. of Sub-Types that you previously added.

Adding Sub-Types in Equipment View
When adding new equipment to a company using Equipment View, a list of Sub-Types can be accessed using a drop-down menu in the Sub-Type field. The text in that field is linked to the Type, which must be entered first before seeing the drop-down list.

Edit Equipment Field

In Equipment Fields, clicking the will open the Edit Equipment Field dialog. You can type a new Sub-Type, start typing one that is already populated, and the text will display, or select a Sub-Type from the drop-down list. Click the to accept or the to cancel. Clicking will move you forward or back in the Equipment View fields. You can also edit/delete the text in this field.

Note: You can enter a Sub-Type without a 'Type.' You just won't have a list to select from. Also, remember the drop-down list will only be populated if you have entered the sub-types previously in the field or from the master list, which is explained next.

To add to or manage the Sub-Types list, in the IndySoft header, click Add/Edit and select Equipment Info...Sub-Types from the drop-down menu.

Be sure you're adding Sub-Types into the right 'Company' AND 'Type.' Click 'New Item' to add a new Sub-Type or to 'View/Edit Item.'

Note: A 'Type' list must be created first before it will show in the above dialog.
