Spec Manager - Overview

The SpecManager allows users of IndySoft to standardize the entry of specifications and uncertainty information across multiple devices. When the information is standardized, it facilitates the ability to swap-out standards and use the same uncertainty budget. If you have one instrument that lists ‘VOLTS_DC’ and another uses ‘DC Volts’, the uncertainty lookup functions see those as two completely different things and the instruments will not be able to be swapped without modifying the uncertainty budget. If done properly, your uncertainty budget should be able to use any instrument that meets the acceptance rule - and to do that, the specification must be consistent.
