Ring Gage Module

Ring Gage Module Wizard
This wizard is used to quickly enter the calibration setup for a ring gage. There are five steps involved in setting up a ring gage. Below is an example of setting up a Z-class ring gage with a bi-lateral tolerance and a size of .5 inches.

Step 1 - Specify Ring Gage Class and Tolerance Direction

Choose the class of the ring gage and its style; in this example, you should choose 'Z' as the Class and 'Bi-Lateral' as the Tolerance Direction. If there are any formula calculations to perform when calibrating the setting disc, you can place an IndySoft calibration formula in the Formula field. In this example, we will leave the field blank. Press the Next button to proceed to the next step.

Step 3 - Specify Any Suffixes To Be Added To Each Test Point

This feature is used when your company checks the accuracy of each ring gage more than once. For this example, we must check the ring gage only once, so nothing will be entered during this step. Press the Next button to proceed to the next step.

Step 4 - Specify Test Point Prefix Information

When building the test point description, the standard value for each ring gage is added as a prefix. By specifying the resolution for the prefix, you can adjust how the standard is displayed. For this example, we will leave the default resolution at 6. This resolution will produce a number of .010000 as the prefix of the 1st test point. If the prefix resolution were 4, the prefix resolution would be .0100. If you don't want the test point prefix to appear, select the Exclude Prefix checkbox. If the ring gage is the Go / No Go Type and you don't want the Go / No Go identifier added to the Test Point Prefix, select the Exclude Go/No Go Labels checkbox. If you want Go/No Go labels to be added to the Group section of test points, check the "Add GO/NO GO" Labels to the group. Press the Next button to proceed to the last step.
